St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is an invaluable organization recognized for its contributions to the community and high-quality care for children over the last 150 years. For this important milestone, our friends at Brian Communications connected with us to create the layout and visuals, bringing the hospital’s history to life through an interactive timeline experience.

Share the Story

The timeline needs to leave a lasting impression and convey to visitors how a donation to such an organization will have a lasting impact. A lot has happened in 150 years; we need to keep the user engaged and wondering what will come next. Ease of navigation on such a content-heavy page is key to a great user experience. Always keeping the donation option within reach is essential – you never know when along the timeline someone will be moved to donate! Also, we included the ability to efficiently “time-travel” across the page through the century jump navigation bar.

The Process

Illustrate & Animate

First, we generated multiple website style options to hone in on the right one for St. Christopher’s brand – one that is colorful, bold, and leaves a lasting impact. The visuals include image treatments, custom illustrations, and graphics, all brought to life with programmed animation. The timeline element itself is part of the experience, following the user along their journey and guiding them through the events of the centuries.
